A climate-neutral energy and media supply for the GENDORF Chemical Park is the central challenge in the transformation to a climate-neutral production site. The magnitude of this task is shown by the energy demand (per year).
- > 1 terawatt hours of electricity, equivalent to the annual demand of over 300,000 four-person households.
- 0.6 terawatt hours of heat for the chemical processes, in the form of steam with at least 200°C. This corresponds to the amount of energy used annually by around 46,000 households for heating and hot water.
To obtain such amounts of energy from renewable sources in the future, we need a long-term strategy that intelligently links as many energy sources as possible. InfraServ Gendorf has developed such a strategy and continues to develop it: EVERGREEN GENDORF 2045. It is based on three central pillars, each of which is assigned several building blocks.
