In recent years, companies like Dyneon (3M) and Clariant have increasingly located research and development activities in Gendorf in addition to production. The interaction at the technical level is very high and continues to generate new ideas and projects – facilitated by the training and continuing education programs at the training academy Inn-Salzach, which is also located at the GENDORF Chemical Park.

Archroma is a globally active company in the paint and specialty chemicals field, with a clear commitment to innovation, superior quality standards, excellent service, cost-efficiency and sustainability. The company has its headquarters in Reinach near Basel (Switzerland) and employs approx. 3,000 people in more than 35 countries. Based on three core businesses – textile specialities, paper solutions, and emulsion products – Archroma supplies service and dye solutions tailored to the customer’s needs in their local markets. By developing technologies that improve the visual appeal and performance capabilities of everyday products, Archroma helps to promote people’s desire for a more emotional and sensory product experience. At the GENDORF Chemical Park, Archroma’s approx. 70 employees produce and develop new products on the basis of fluortelomers, which are sold to the global market as specialty products for producing and highly refining the surfaces for textile, paper, leather, and stone applications.
Klöckner Pentaplast Group (kp) is among the world’s leading manufacturers of packaging, printing, and specialty solutions for pharmaceutical and medical products, foods, beverages, cards, and a wide range of other markets. Due to the broad portfolio of innovative plastic foils and associated services and a consistent marketing policy that places the focus on product integrity, safety, consumer health, and brand reputation, kp is positioned as an important player in the value-added chain of its customers. Klöckner Pentaplast was founded in 1965 as part of the emerging plastics industry in the 1960’s, with a factory in Montabaur. Today, the company operates more than 18 production facilities in 12 countries, a worldwide network of sales offices, and employs more than 3,000 people dedicated to servicing customers worldwide.
At the Gendorf site, Klöckner Pentaplast develops and produces premium foils for a wide range of technical applications. In addition to foils for adhesive tape and premium furniture surface finishing foils, the Gendorf-based product line also includes foils for adhesive tape for insulation wraps, specialty- foils for credit cards, and innovative shrink foils for the packaging industry.
With an annual capacity of 780,000 metric tonnes (1.7 billion lbs) Vinnolit, a Westlake company, is one of the leading PVC producers in Europe and the market and technical leader in specialty PVC worldwide.
National and international activities of the company are managed from Ismaning, near Munich. Production sites are in Burghausen, Gendorf, Knapsack, Cologne, Schkopau and Hillhouse (UK). With 1,400 staff, Vinnolit has an annual turnover of approx. EUR 900 million.
Vinnolit produces and markets a wide range of PVC products covering all kinds of PVC applications, e.g. in the building & construction sector, in the automobile industry or in the medical sector. Approximately 1.500 associates of W. L. Gore & Associates GmbH work in its four Bavarian locations in Putzbrunn, Feldkirchen, Pleinfeld and Burgkirchen, supporting the full range of Gore’s product portfolio. In the five Putzbrunn plants, associates work in production, development, sales and service. Gore produces membranes, fabrics, filters and sealants for a multitude of applications as well as functional textiles. The Feldkirchen-Westerham facility is focused on sales, marketing and production of functional textiles for end-users. Gore’s activities for the brand GORE WEAR® are also centered at this location. Gore’s two Pleinfeld plants are dedicated to production and sales of electronic products. At Burgkirchen/Chemical Park GENDORF location Gore has set up a small-scale production facility for fluoropolymers.This new facility is an outgrowth of Gore’s commitment to fluoropolymer innovation and an investment in their core technology. The small facility operations is operated in control operation with around 50 associates.
